Product Description |
| Joggers, snowboarders, and other outdoor enthusiasts will delight in the Sony MDR-J20 headphones, as their contoured clips follow the curve of the ears to ensure a snug fit even when bouncing around. The headphones also feature a flexible ear hanger that reduces stress on the ear, along with an open-air design that lets in ambient sound without sacrificing the quality of the music. The latter function is particularly important when skateboarding or running, as users can listen for traffic noise and other audible threats. It's the audio, however, that matters to most listeners, and the MDR-J20 headphones deliver on that count, too. Each earpiece carries a powerful neodymium magnet that provides great sound at frequencies between 18 Hz and 22 kHz. Don't give in to poorly designed, bulky headphones that slow you down while exercising. The MDR-J20s, which weigh a mere 0.35 ounces, are a perfect fit. |

Comfortable - especially when wearing glasses

I'm glad to find these on sale since Sony seems to have pulled them from retail shelves. The next generation fits tighter around the ears but uses smaller drivers.
The MDR-J20 works much better for wearing them over glasses since there's more room to give. The in-ear earphones are larger, which helps to block out ambient noise, and gives a louder/richer sound.
I wouldn't recommend the J20 for active movement, but they're great otherwise. I especially love that it's easy to pull just one side off in a single motion. |
The BEST earphones, bought 2 more after buying the worst

| I used these at the gym for over a year to drown out the garbage they play so loud. I also use these when mowing the lawn. The best fidelity and quality, I don't know how they could be any better. I bought Philips SHS8000 Premium Sound Earhook Headphones (since returned) for $29 (now $18 and less) and they were nothing in comparision to the $12 MDR-J20. |
Great set of HeadPhones

| I have owned these headphones for about 8 years and they have performed well throughout these years. I just recently broke them, it was completely my fault, I wasn't paying attention and snapped one of the over-the-ear hooks off. I have even purchased a pair of headphones to replace them but they weren't as good as these, so I still use the broken set of Sony mdr-J20's. I am about to order a new set so that I don't look silly on the train with one broken headphone. Also, the cord does get tangled A LOT (no frayed wires to speak of). I am pretty sure that I have used these at the gym in the past, but I didn't notice any movement. I am not an outside runner, at most I use the treadmill or the elliptical machines. |
These are the best - sturdy, great sound, easy to untangle!

| I've tried a lot of portable headphones. I really wanted something retractable, but the wires in those are so fragile. These have a VERY sturdy cable which is easy to untangle, and great sound. I like having hooks that rest over my ears (takes no effort to keep them on), and I can choose whether to push the earbuds deeper into my ear, or just let them rest outside so I can also hear sounds around me. I wear them primarily on public transportation or at work. Great audio depth of sound as well - enough bass, not too much treble. I have a black pair for travel (draws less attention) and a white pair at work. Don't waste your money on anything else! |
Good clip earphones

| I those these because I have used them before, I lost my other pair, I'm good at that. Thats why I buy less expensive earphones, like this. They sound really good, but if you want you can spend about half the money buying the other Sony clip earphones that are usually blue, that have the same speakers and audio drivers. These jsut looks a little better to me. Great for someone who is on the go. |
