iMuffs: The ultimate in a wireless world!

Review Date: June 18, 2009
Reviewer: Evan Jacobson, New Jersey/New York
I spent months researching and trying out wireless options for ipod listening; I'd rather spend my limited
time actively listening to music rather than untangling fragile wires. Moreover, I'm frustrated with earpieces
the size of a dime that simply do not fit in my ears without lubrication. Having said that, you can see that I'm
not a fan of uncomfortable ear pieces that cause the listener the crank up the music to "eleven" due to poor
fitting. That will automatically eliminate several wireless headsets on the market. I'm not a fan of slamming
companies, but I have to be honest because music listening is my life. Hence, several Motorola models failed in comfort, price, and performance. Not to mention, battery life also fell short. The MB220 iMuffs are just awesome. I don't have to cram anything into my ears, chafe my neck, or put the amp on eleven (mentioned earlier). They stay charged for several hours and deliver a very clear sound. Moreover, I've walked close to 30 feet away from my ipod (especially when washing dishes) and the sound did not waiver at all. The only complaint is the volume control which feels like a whimsical dipswitch. It takes a little getting used to and it feels fragile. Yet, it's still holding up and consistent in regards to choosing the proper volume. One final point, pairing the device to my ipod was a breeze. In contrast, other models provided extremely poor pairing instructions; it should not take 30 minutes to pair devices. When a product comes out of the box and works in under 10 minutes without a hitch, that is simply divine. The bottom line is that people don't want to settle for a lemon. Rather, they want a quality product specifically tailored to meet their needs. iMuffs are a strong winner and I hope people cash in on this precious gem in the wireless world. Rock on! :)
Not 3GS Compatable for Bluetooth Calls

Review Date: January 14, 2010
Reviewer: Katherine Obrien,
Although the description of this phone idicates that it is compatable with the iPhone 3GS, you cannot make or receive calls using the bluetooth device and therefore I do not recommend this product if you wish to use this feature. The music feature works just fine though.
Not too good

I had read the reviews that were available and they all had good things to say. The iMuffs seemed to be the ones to buy.
My experience is as follows: They arrived, and after I had set them up I went ahead and called a friend. The friend couldn't hear me very well (I could hear him perfectly. Always the case with iMuffs) so we assumed it was the usual cell phone stuff. Then I called another friend, the same thing, so I said, hang on, and changed from iMuffs to iPhone, and viola! she could hear me perfectly. Some can't tell the difference between the iMuffs and iPhone but most of the time they can't hear me well at all on the iMuffs.
I called Wi-Gear and suggested they take a look and verify that my particular pair was, or was not, perhaps faulty. Their response was that there is nothing wrong with them and that I could get a refund.
I liked everything else about them, so I stupidly did not send them back for a refund. Started using them only when it was appropriate.
They have a pretty decent sound when listening to music, so I use then when I take a walk, but the next thing is when APPLE produces it's first iPhone update, which included stereo blue tooth. The problem is that Apple made a mess of this update because after that, the pause button on the iMuffs will no longer work, which to me renders the iMuffs almost usless, thanks APPLE!!
Of course, neither Apple not Wi-Gear will discuss the glitch Apple caused, which is totally annoying since I payed money for these things and thereby deserve to know what's happening. No matter how you slice it, that's disgusting.
The dumb thing is that everyone, or enough people understand that technology is a work in progress and problems of this nature WILL show up. All I expect, being a customer, is to be told, 'we're aware of the problem and will fix it in due course'. They may have many complicated reasons for their silence, but it does not alter the FACT.
I'd say back off on the iMuffs until these people get their stuff together. If they do, it'll be a recommended product.
