Great for the iTouch!

I bought these specifically for my Ipod Touch, 2G. Sound quality is good, they are basically the standard Ipod ear buds. If you're interested in making Voip calls through your touch, then these are a must. I use them for making phone calls through Skype (using the Fring app). They work perfectly out of the box (and yes, it is hard to open!) I called my husband's cell phone and he reported my sound quality being just fine. It's too bad that they don't work on my Mac too...
Great product for iPod Touch and MacBook

I bought this product initially for my iPod Touch 2nd Gen to use with new iPod Touch Skype application. I am a heavy user of Skype and was missing mobility feature of Skype and mic in iPod Touch. Now both are full filled. I can now receive and make VOIP calls using Skype from my iPod Touch and Apple earphone Remote with Mic. The best part is, I also have a MacBook Aluminum (late 2008), when I plugged the headphone into MacBook, it worked flawlessly. Now I can even control iTunes (volume, paly/pause and track forward only) from the little remote and can use the mic with Skype, Yahoo Messenger, GTalk and other audio related application. Initially I was planning to buy Apple in-ear headphone with remote & mic, which costs $80. Then thought it's not worth it, as by paying $20 more I can buy a Bose in-ear headphone. But this $30 Apple Earphone is really 4 in 1 - Headphone + Remote + Microphone + Spare headphone for iPod Touch. Recommend this product if you have iPod Touch 2nd Gen and/or MacBook/Pro Aluminum. Don't buy it if you have iPod Touch 1st Gen or MacBook white, it won't work.
A Must-Have for the iPod Touch

These are expensive, but they work great with the iPod Touch. If you're listening to music, you can quickly decrease or increase the volume, move between tracks, or pause (a great feature if you're a frequent traveler and need to quickly pause to hear an announcement on a plane). Out for a walk or run? Set up your playlist and leave the iPod in your pocket. Don't like the song that's playing? Just reach up to the microphone/controller to go to the next track.

Want to tape a college class, or remind yourself to pick up pizza on the way home? Just download the free "Record" application and you have a built-in voice recorder.

I was initially interested in this product when I read an article about how you can use Skype to make VoIP calls from the Touch. I haven't tried it yet, but reviews indicate that it works well. Sound quality? Same as standard iPod earbuds -- average. If you're an audiophile you may not be impressed, but I'm happy, and they earbuds are comfortable!

I bought these headphones for my iPod Touch 2nd Generation and they are amazing. They work great and are perfect for running and making phone calls (VoIP and Skype). They may be a little expensive but totally worth the money!!!
Amazingly improved sound but Vol control compatible with old iPhones

These earphones won't control the volume in old iPhones (2G/3G), they do in 3GS only, but the other features will work wonderfully as in the previous model earphones (play/pause, skip, back, answer call, reject call, hold call).

The sound improvement is amazing! They give you more sound detail, making your listening experience far more enjoyable. Also the output volume is higher, so it's easier to listen while walking in a noisy street.

Even with no vol control, they are a worth improvement for your old iPhone.
